SSC results to be published at 10:00 am tomorrow
In a Nutshell:
- Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon will formally inaugurate the results for SSC and equivalent exams at the Education Ministry on 10 am this Monday.
- Results were originally supposed to be published by July 20th but the government missed the deadline. The examinations ran from April 21, with written tests ending by May 24 and practical tests held from June 7 to 14.
- Results will be available through education board websites, two common result portals, educational institutions and SMS.
- Students can apply online for result rechecking from August 11 to 17.
- 18,57,344 candidates sat for exams this year with 14,18,318 SSC students, 3,03,286 Dakhil students and 1,34,660 vocational students.
Why it matters
This year's results will be measured against 2025, when the combined pass rate fell to 68.45 percent from 83.03 percent in 2024 and GPA 5 numbers dropped by more than 43,000. That makes the 2026 results important for establishing whether last year's sharp decline was an outlier or whether student performance is settling at a lower level.
What we think
The results will put Education Minister Milon's approach to exam discipline under scrutiny. Since taking office, he has repeatedly said monitoring would be tightened so that "cheating can no longer take place” and that students would finally have to study to pass exams on their own merit. He has also pushed for one common question paper across the country for SSC and HSC. This year's results will offer the first broad picture of how students have performed under that approach, although the numbers alone cannot show how much of any change came from stricter monitoring, changes to questions or other factors.
