Nayem Ali

Nayem Ali, also known as Nayem Shaan, is a Dhaka-based journalist, photographer, educator, and strategic communications professional, currently working as Head of Content at Nutshell Today. His career has taken him from newsrooms and photo assignments to the corridors of power, often moving between a camera and a notebook depending on the story. Before joining Nutshell Today, he served as Assistant Press Secretary to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, working closely with the media and public communications during Bangladesh’s constitutional transition. His work has appeared in The Guardian, The Telegraph, DW, Human Rights Watch, The Wall Street Journal, Rest of World, AFP and Reuters, among others. He is drawn to stories about politics, power, and the people behind the institutions, and likes looking at them both up close and from a little distance. Outside work, most days involve a lot of metal music, and weekends are often reserved for FUT Champs.
